Founders
The American Indian Healing Center was founded in December of 2000 by
Javier
"Hawk" Davila M.D. and Debbie Bent MS, FNP-C, PHN.
Javier
Davila M.D.
Co-founder and Medical Director Javier "Hawk" Davila M.D. has
been serving the healthcare needs of the urban American Indian community
since opening his practice 1986. Due to his dedication to the American
Indian community, he has been the primary source of funding for the center
since its inception.
Debbie
Bent
Co-founder and Administrator Debbie Bent, is a board certified nurse
practitioner with extensive clinical and administrative experience.
She has served the American Indian community since 1998, first as
clinic
project of an Orange County based mobile health project and then as
co-founder of the American Indian Healing Center.
At present the majority of the clinic's staff are volunteers most have
extensive experience in working closely with the American Indian community.
Because the majority of the clinic's staff and Medical Director are
American Indian, the clinic ensures ethnic and culturally sensitive
care to all
of its patients.
